Bio
Dominic Caguioa is an administrative coordinator of Instructional Leadership Support for the Los Angeles Unified School District’s (LAUSD) Instructional Technology Initiative (ITI). In this role, he leads the ITI team in designing and delivering professional learning around expansion of computer science, advancement of digital citizenship, and implementation of the ISTE Standards, among many other initiatives, to serve the over 25,000 educators and leaders of L.A. Unified. He coordinates system-wide efforts such as remote, distance, and hybrid learning and edtech programs by directly supporting school leadership teams, teacher leaders and coaches’ cohorts, and pilot schools.

Dominic’s work to expand computer science extends beyond LAUSD. He has been providing computer science fundamentals workshops in California through Code.org, bringing the core concepts of computer science to elementary schools and increasing participation of underrepresented students in this field of study. He also supports Code.org’s cadre of professional learning facilitators in the US by providing a "train the trainer" approach in preparing them to lead workshops nationwide. He’s a National Board Certified Teacher in special education, and has worked with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards as a consultant.

He has recently been named ISTE Technology Coordinators Network Awardee for 2021.
