Vitalis joined the NYC DOE DIIT in 2015 working as a Business IT Specialist building the necessary bridge between the engineers, the school communities, vendors and other DOE partners to promote the use of technology in the classroom and the integration of technology into learning and teaching. Prior to that, Vitalis worked as a teacher and principal with the Brothers of Christian Schools organization, and was a transformational leader who developed and grew a robust volunteer organization supporting children’s right to education in Cameroon. Vitalis was commissioned as the representative of the African Continent to the International Council of the Lasallian Educational Mission Family in Rome where he developed the guidelines for its Educational Mission. Vitalis sponsored the building of a vocational high school in Cameroon to support the Lasallian Volunteers’ Educational mission, collaborating with many international not-for-profit organizations to complete the project. Vitalis holds a master’s degree in educational research from St Mary’s College of California and K-12 Educational Technology Specialist from Teachers College Columbia University. As part of the Technology Innovation Team at DIIT, he supports the NYC DOE school communities in rethinking the classroom of the future.
