Vitalis Ndikum is a visionary who has dedicated his life to transforming education. He is a member of the Technology Innovation Team at the Division of Instructional and Information Technology (DIIT NYC Public Schools), where he oversees the new device team. His team is responsible for selecting, validating, and standardizing devices and technologies for New York Public Schools’ classrooms and offices. Vitalis joined the division in 2015 as the Business Information Technology Specialist, and since then, he has been instrumental in revolutionizing the way technology is used in the classroom.

Before joining DIIT, Vitalis worked for fifteen years with the Brothers of Christian Schools or De La Salle Brothers, a Roman Catholic Not-for-profit organization with educational institutions in eighty countries worldwide. He began his career as a high school teacher in Cameroon and later became the founding Principal of Mutien-Marie High School in Cameroon. He is also the Co-founder of the Not-for-profit Lasallian Volunteers of Cameroon and their educational mission. Vitalis’s passion for education and his innovative approach to teaching have made him a trailblazer in the field.

Between 2008 and 2013, Vitalis was commissioned by the Brothers’ mission in Cameroon and Africa to represent the continent on the International Council for Lasallian Family and the De La Salle Brothers Educational Mission in Rome, Italy. The council works to define the guiding principle of the Lasallian educational mission and works to guarantee the rights of children, especially the marginalized and the poor. Vitalis’s leadership and commitment to education have been instrumental in shaping the future of education in Africa and beyond.

Vitalis Ndikum holds a Master of Arts from Teacher College Columbia University in Educational Technology Specialist (K-12) and another Master of Arts from St. Mary’s College of California in Educational Research, Lasallian Studies. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Douala Institute of Technology. Vitalis’s expertise in technology and education has made him a pioneer in the field. He analyzes the role of technology in the classroom and how the effective transformation of the classroom impacts teachers, students, and the learning process. His innovative approach to education has made him a champion of change, and his work has inspired countless educators around the world.
