Prior to joining Discovery Education, Nafisa Basir, had a long history working in NYC schools as an Educator and Administrator. Her work in public, private and charter school education includes that of a founding educator for a small Charter School in Harlem as well opening the NYC sites for a multi-state Ed Tech school here in NYC. Nafisa has been in education for over 20 years working as a teacher, dean, and administrator. She is currently the Manager of Partnerships, for Discovery Education supporting current and future NYC partner schools. She earned her M.S. Ed. in Educational Leadership, School Building Leaders, School District Leaders.
