Kristi has been an educator with the NYC Dept. of Education since 2004. She is passionate about both writing research papers with a team at Hunter College ("Formative Assessment of Computational Thinking: Cognitive and Metacognitive Processes") as well as presenting in both national educational conference spaces (NSTA, ISTE) and local NYC conferences. She is a recipient of the NYCDOE Excellence in School Technology Award in 2016 as well as a Code/Interactive Diversity in Tech Honoree in 2018. She currently teaches AP Computer Science Principles and Living Environment at the High School of Hospitality Management and works tirelessly to reimagine her curriculum with opportunities for social justice lessons and projects. She has successfully graduated from all 3 levels of the CS4ALL Exploring Equity in CS sequence as well as been a member of the Ingenuity Team since 2021.
