Take your tools forward
Albert Einstein said, “In the midst of every crisis, lies great opportunity.” This approach causes you to look for a silver lining during a crisis and to seek opportunities and innovation that might not have been obvious before. Historically we’ve brought innovations from wars and plagues into the future, such as…zippers and the printing press.  Similarly, it seems a shame to discard innovations born out of the pain of crisis in the quest to “get back to normal.”

We’re not through the pandemic yet, but it pays to look at what we’ve gained from our two years and counting crisis and take those tools forward, not discard them. Whether it’s the ubiquity of QR codes – no touch menus in restaurants – or expanded digital learning tools. NYC is, for the first time, the largest 1:1 program in the nation. The pandemic made it clear that tech integration and tools are everyone’s job. Now it’s our job to think about how those tools work best in our classrooms.
