Ronique Hicks is a Director of Education Partnerships for Discovery Education with over 20 years of educational experience in teaching, professional development, consultation, and business management at various levels within the public and private sector. Born in Brooklyn, NY and a graduate from Teaneck, NJ, she began her teaching career in New York City and was a former Model Schools Coordinator for Orange-Ulster Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) in Goshen, NY. A believer in life-long learning, Ronique has had countless opportunities to meet, share, and work with talented educators in the United States and abroad in various capacities including workshops, seminars, professional learning conferences, individual/small group mentoring in varied programs, and as an educational consultant for industry leading companies including ClassLink, eInstruction, Plato Learning, and Discovery Education. As co-author of Retool Your School: The Educator's Essential Guide to Google's Free Power Apps published by ISTE, she was able to empower teachers to think creatively and thoughtfully about how they design learning experiences using 21st century tools to communicate, collaborate, assess, and share. For ten years, Ronique has worked at Discovery Education, leading teams charged with large- scale professional learning implementation across a number of K-12 urban districts including New York City DOE, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and Chicago Public Schools. She now leads Discovery’s education partnerships in the state of New York, Maryland, the District of Columbia, and key urban districts in the Northeast, supporting their key initiatives and innovative learning programs.
